Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Horror Story.

Please avoid them! They are complete scammers who will tell you everything you want to hear so they get your business but do as they want after you contract with them. I shipped 14 guitars in Feb 2015 as part of my move to FL, paid to have them crated for protection and they arrived uncrated and I had several broken cases! They promised me a date of delivery then held my possessions for 2 weeks beyond that date before starting the move! They DO NOT have moving trucks, as shown on their website, and subcontract the job out to amateurs! A complete nightmare! I even filed complaints with the NYC Dep of Consumer Affairs and the BBB. They should be shut down but that'd be hard to do since they operate out of a "store-front" in a Brooklyn apartment building! Please heed my advice and save yourself the stress and heartache by avoiding these unscrupulous animals!! I've written other on-line reviews and beware of "positive" reviews because they're written by NYVL! I'm sure the "Sean" character I talked with is a front, too!

Long-distance move from New Hampshire to Florida

Bad Service!

Please! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! I would like to share our story with everyone! We hired this company and it was a disaster, this was the worst decision we made! we lost a TV 60 "flat with cracked screen, a table broken down into 5 pieces, a vase floor tiles 40 cm broken in half, missing two boxes and other small pieces of kitchen glass. These people are bad professionals, starting with the person who was our home load the truck, after he show me the documentation, he said: I like the tip is 10% of the total contract value, I believe that the problems began at this time, because my husband and I found this absurd attitude, the tip would be around $ 200, and this charge is not correct. Our nightmare was just beginning at this time, our move was to NH FL, our belongings were delivered 10 days late because the salesgirl Angie lied about the delivery of our belongings, we were 10 days without NOTHING inside our apartment My husband would call and hear insults beyond the manager Lisa, we did not have a date for estimated arrival of our belongings. When the change was finally delivered, when the clerk opened the truck, we took a fright because all our stuff in the truck were overturned, torn boxes, and the worst they "forgot" to bring the bike from my husband, the great detail is that the bike was not in our inventory list. We, my husband and I were just too busy and do not pay attention, trust that everything was in line, a value was paid more for this bike to be placed in the same truck, but we decid to pay another company $ 500 more for take out our moto from New York Van Lines, we are so scared to lose our motocycle, or just have totally broken, when the driver of the motorcycle company's third truck, called for Mr. Lisa trying to get information on schedules, this woman, Mr. Lisa, hung up the phone and just not answer the call anymore. Finally my husband called Elms, a type of agent, but with more profile customer service, and she was the one who was willing to help us.When we see all our losses, we called the company, spoke with the manager Lisa, and she gave the following response to my husband, you packed it is your fault and I'm too busy for you. However, we paid over $ 150 in plastic bubbles and a cardboard box for the company to use in belongs of the house that "they" consider need better protection. We will disclose all information on review sites so that other people do not have the same problem we had, this company is bad, just do not waste your time if you want to view photos or further information leave your e-mail. We will send whatever is necessary, we should try to help people from firms that level.

Long-distance move from New York to New Jersey

One of the best moving company.

We hired New York Van Lines Moving for our move from New York to New Jersey.. This was our first move and we were very nervous about the entire process after reading SO MANY BAD REVIWES ABOUT SO MANY DIFFERENT COMPANIES Luckily for us, New york van lInes  was ready to prove to us that not all movers are out to rip you off!! Our relocation consultant, lisa, was very thorough during the estimate process and made sure to explain to us the full process of the move and services that were available to us. Lisa provided us with a guaranteed price in writing for our move and was quick to offer suggestions on how to correctly prepare for the pickup date. The pickup went smoothly, and our things were delivered well within the window of dates we were given. The delivery crew not only brought our items into the home but placed them in the correct rooms and even set up our beds! We couldn’t have asked for an easier move process. Thank you guys!

Long-distance move from New York to Pennsylvania

No Show.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY..THEY ARE A FRAUD!!   I hired this moving company for a move from New York to Philadelphia.  They required a 50 dollar deposit.  They gave me a price quote of 730 dollars.  I confirmed the job over the phone several times during the week prior to the move.  I made it very clear that I had strict elevator restrictions and that I was only able to use the elevator in my building from 8-10am because several people were moving out.  I had everything packed and ready to go at 8am, but the company did not show up.  I called their office 10-15 times during those 2 hours but I could not get through to anyone and no one called me back, despite leaving messages with all of their departments.  They have a feature on their phone where you have to say your name before anyone will talk to you..shady.     Since they did not show up, I was forced to call another moving company to arrange the move for later that night and I did not get to Philadelphia until after 1am.  During that day, New York Van Lines finally showed up but it wasn't until around noon, at which time I could not move because other tenants were using the elevator.  In addition, the driver of the truck took one look at my price quote and said "you were smart to hire another company because there is no way I would move you for even close to that quote."   When I talked to New York Van Lines later, they refused to return my 50 dollar deposit!!  The manager told me that she wouldn't refund my money even if they showed up a week late!!  .

Long-distance move from New Jersey to California

Never hire them - beware of LISA.

Please stay away from this company.  Read all the reviews especially on Yelp (the filtered reviews and reviews elsewhere)..they lie/ they steal/ rob customers property/ use it / damage it / is an unethically run business / the owner LISA shouts and yells at customers.   My family moved from NY to CA.  Our stuff arrived 90 days after it was picked up   - no communication / no information / no news from NY Van Lines despite leaving several phone calls.  21% of our property was  stolen.  They did not honor their own contract where we paid for unpacking services - they refused to unpack.  the boxes came damaged, broken, open and half empty.  Most expensive items stolen including our bikes, art work, classic furniture pieces.  Lisa and her staff stole our stuff.

The price on the contract that was disclosed at the end after my stuff was on the truck was 3 times the original quote that Lisa's professional staff quoted after walking our property and talking notes.  I was forced to sign the document that had tripped the price.  Lisa was yelling at me on the phone.  It started with her staff stealing my sons food (4 years old)when they arrived, then her staff was asking for a 15-20% tip on the total billed amount and asked me if my husband would settle the tip or I would.  Then then company ended up with 3 times the bill after the stuff was on the truck with Lisa yelling and shouting at me about the undisclosed charges.  I had a quote from her so called professional staff ( was her staff not qualified) is that why the quote was tripled.  Or did the staff lie to us to get business?   They refused to share any documentation on the size of the truck or provide any supporting information on how they calculated the volume of my stuff - which was almost double of what their professional staff had estimated.  The calculation was random without any supporting documents.  I want to see them if there are any.  And then I was forced to sign the document after they loaded the truck.  The driver said, I have to leave just sign here and Lisa was yelling the same - that I have no choice but to sign.    Our stuff was delivered on the 61st day after it was hauled from the place of origin.  We had no information whatsoever of when to expect.  There was no communication from their end.  Stuff arrived with 21% missing and truck driver having no clue.  Lisa on the call, was telling my husband and the truck driver that they are both lying that the stuff is missing.  The company did not honor their own contract which was signed by us and them where they charged us $3,500 for unpacking under 'unpacking' line item on the contract.  It is interesting to note that they force the customer to sign and conveniently honor it when they want and conveniently dishonor the contract when they do not, to work it all out in their favor.  Our boxes came broken, open and half empty apart from the missing 21% of the overall shipment.  When the truck driver refused to unpack, we called Lisa and she said the only choice we have is to pay the bill in full if we want our stuff.  The driver threatened to leave with our stuff (which is actually steal our property and hold it hostile).  This company had failed to honor its contract, has failed to deliver the service, lost / stole / abused /robbed us of our property.

They have a staff of 3 ONLY! their dispatch department consist of a lady called Alma - who never returns phone calls. Their customer service is a lady called Lisa - who literally barks at customers and scolds them. And there is a big guy by the name John who is their Management. They call each other each others supervisors and staff conveniently. Stay away from this company.  Stay away from this company who is robbing people of their belongings and their money. We have moved several times but never had such a negative experience. Do not bring your business to them. They are a joke. Their so called binding estimate was not binding, everyday was a surprise. The big guy (professional - not even for a second) came and walked and made no notes whatsoever and oh..he just forgot to give the estimate until guess what I followed up a zillion times. The so called binding estimate is a complete lie. They tripled it for me. After putting all my stuff on the truck..they made me sign a contract that was 3 times the estimate while all the services required were asked for upfront. There were no additions to service from our end. except for it that from their end - the cost had tripled by then. Goods will not move at the price they quote..they move at 3 times that price! They play a bait and switch game. And they are never on time. They will always blow up your time schedule and will not call you/ have the courtesy to inform you even after they are late. What an irony that they write complete lies on their website. Nothing like what we experienced. Quoting from their website.."After an initial survey of the goods to be moved, our professional estimators provide you with a binding estimate of cost. You can be assured that those goods will be moved at that price. New York Van Lines prides itself on being on time and on budget." And beware of the lady that goes by the name Lisa in the office..who calls herself a staff, a manager, a supervisor and a bull dog!. Yes she is. She will bark at you. Did I not mention that they know no customer service!

Feel free to contact us if you need more information.  We have recorded our conversation with the owner / customer service representative Lisa - who is practically always yelling and shouting at customers on the phone.

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Virginia

New York Van Lines.

I wish I had read the reviews before choosing this company. My moving date was Monday July 1st; the representative said they would call me the day before to let me know when they would arrive to load. I never got that call, and of course there was no one in the office. The next morning, when I called them, they told me that the movers would be arriving between 9 and 11; at 11.30 I got a call from the driver letting me know there had been a problem with the truck and they could not arrive until 5 in the afternoon. I had reserved a dedicated truck for my moving from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania to Richmond, VA, so he said they would stay that night in a motel in the town and would load the next day early in the morning, at 7.30. I agreed, would else could I do? Then guess what? At 5.30 am I was woken up by a call from somebody in the company saying they would be arriving between 9 and 11am. Obviously they did not arrive on Monday neither stay there but were driving from Brooklyn. When I called the company to complain about that new delay, the representative was extremely rude; she said I had no reason at all to complain, and argued that I had not paid for a dedicated truck, which was not true, for I was paing $800 for that. After I insisted not only that I had booked a dedicated truck but also that the moving day on the agreement was the day before, she had to apologize, but  reluctantly. After almost 6 years in America I can say I had never been treated in such a rude fashion! Please, stay away from this awful moving company!

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Terrible!

Please do NOT use this company!! They will say anything you want to hear, but as soon as it is a done deal.. they send your items back damaged. As soon as they took final payment upon delivery, they informed us that not all of our stuff had shipped. I have called over 5 times trying to get an answer on when I will receive the rest of our stuff, but they keep giving us the run around (specifically spoke to Lisa and Rosa). This company is complete SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Do NOT use them if you want all your stuff returned, and if you want your things undamaged. I'm not sure if they will even send the rest of our belongings, which includes baby stuff that we need for our little one due in May. Terrible experience!      .

Long-distance move from Florida to New Jersey

Do not use.

New York Van Lines, was support to move our things from Miami to New Jersey June 21, 2013, but they had so many issues with their vans, the things was moved June 30, 2013. Things was moved without us being told that the price was now tripled until the van was almost in New Jersey. I called NY Van multiple times asking for the charge and no one in the office keen the answer. When they told us the price, due to us not having enough money, ny vans put our things in their storage until July 24, 2013. I reported that we had missing and lots of damaged items. They told us to file a claim with Anthem Claim Management. We did this August 27,2013 and got a response back saying they can give us $210. What was damaged: 1) 2 glass China's ( all the glass shelves were broken) 2) Deep freeze (large dents on sides 3) cooking stove (lots of dents, stove top completely damaged, knobs broken) 4) rice dispenser damaged (top missing) 5) 3 large very expensive pictures ( glass frames broken) 6) dinning Rome table (broken, legs can not be attached). All these things was package and rapped by ny vans. They claimed to had bought more rapping items from Home Depot , but all I saw was ny vans wrappings.

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Massachusetts

New York Van Lines Are Worst Movers Ever.

NEW YORK VAN LINES ARE WORST MOVERS EVER.
I strongly recommend not going with these movers. I’m the victim. I’m frustrated and pissed with these movers. I had this move from North Carolina to Massachusetts (Interstate Move). First their moving quote is misleading. They will have your quote with low cost to attract you first and take 100 dollar to have you sign to their quote. They go by cubic feet. Regardless of your house hold stuff they quote very low cubic feet to bring the price low to attract you. If you sign by that you are hanged. They will send the driver to pick you stuff ASAP but delivery is delayed to your patience. I didn’t get deliveries till now even after 3 weeks. They have plenty of excuses to tell you. Please don’t deliver whatever driver say to you. He does not have any power to give discount nor delivery time. He will bring your quote almost double first and he talks to his manages and pretend as if he is on your side and giving you discount but it’s not. IT’S ALL THEIR GAME PLAN, NEVER BELIEVE THEM. Delivery is all their decision. Regardless how much you request, they won’t even try helping you. They will take complete advantage and take as much time as possible. They deliver only on their will not on your wish. Just imagine, 11 months baby without a bowl to feed and blanket to sleep for 3 weeks. I called them so many times and requested but they never even tried to help me. These are people I talked and faced trouble.
I REQUEST YOU NOT TO GO WITH THESE MOVERS AND ESPECIALLY DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE (ANGIE, ROSA OR ANY DISPATCH TEAM AND DRIVER TYLER).
I STRONGLY SUGGEST AND RECOMMEND NOT TO GO WITH THIS MOVERS.
Regards,RD
 .
