Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Horror Story.

Please avoid them! They are complete scammers who will tell you everything you want to hear so they get your business but do as they want after you contract with them. I shipped 14 guitars in Feb 2015 as part of my move to FL, paid to have them crated for protection and they arrived uncrated and I had several broken cases! They promised me a date of delivery then held my possessions for 2 weeks beyond that date before starting the move! They DO NOT have moving trucks, as shown on their website, and subcontract the job out to amateurs! A complete nightmare! I even filed complaints with the NYC Dep of Consumer Affairs and the BBB. They should be shut down but that'd be hard to do since they operate out of a "store-front" in a Brooklyn apartment building! Please heed my advice and save yourself the stress and heartache by avoiding these unscrupulous animals!! I've written other on-line reviews and beware of "positive" reviews because they're written by NYVL! I'm sure the "Sean" character I talked with is a front, too!

Long-distance move from New Hampshire to Florida

Bad Service!

Please! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! I would like to share our story with everyone! We hired this company and it was a disaster, this was the worst decision we made! we lost a TV 60 "flat with cracked screen, a table broken down into 5 pieces, a vase floor tiles 40 cm broken in half, missing two boxes and other small pieces of kitchen glass. These people are bad professionals, starting with the person who was our home load the truck, after he show me the documentation, he said: I like the tip is 10% of the total contract value, I believe that the problems began at this time, because my husband and I found this absurd attitude, the tip would be around $ 200, and this charge is not correct. Our nightmare was just beginning at this time, our move was to NH FL, our belongings were delivered 10 days late because the salesgirl Angie lied about the delivery of our belongings, we were 10 days without NOTHING inside our apartment My husband would call and hear insults beyond the manager Lisa, we did not have a date for estimated arrival of our belongings. When the change was finally delivered, when the clerk opened the truck, we took a fright because all our stuff in the truck were overturned, torn boxes, and the worst they "forgot" to bring the bike from my husband, the great detail is that the bike was not in our inventory list. We, my husband and I were just too busy and do not pay attention, trust that everything was in line, a value was paid more for this bike to be placed in the same truck, but we decid to pay another company $ 500 more for take out our moto from New York Van Lines, we are so scared to lose our motocycle, or just have totally broken, when the driver of the motorcycle company's third truck, called for Mr. Lisa trying to get information on schedules, this woman, Mr. Lisa, hung up the phone and just not answer the call anymore. Finally my husband called Elms, a type of agent, but with more profile customer service, and she was the one who was willing to help us.When we see all our losses, we called the company, spoke with the manager Lisa, and she gave the following response to my husband, you packed it is your fault and I'm too busy for you. However, we paid over $ 150 in plastic bubbles and a cardboard box for the company to use in belongs of the house that "they" consider need better protection. We will disclose all information on review sites so that other people do not have the same problem we had, this company is bad, just do not waste your time if you want to view photos or further information leave your e-mail. We will send whatever is necessary, we should try to help people from firms that level.

Don't believe the hype!

I used New York Van Lines to move me and my family from St Albans N.Y. to Co Op City. If I would have read the reviews I would have never used them and missed out on My great rmoving experience. The price was fair but the service was outstanding. All my furniture was wrapped, my China cabinet and glass tables were properly protected. My tv's were very well taken care of. The price was a little more than what I received over the phone but it was to my understanding that the price over the phone was JUST AN ESTIMATE! I recommend these guys to anyone. Stress free move! God Bless those guys. Thanks again!

Long-distance move from Florida to New Jersey

Do not use.

New York Van Lines, was support to move our things from Miami to New Jersey June 21, 2013, but they had so many issues with their vans, the things was moved June 30, 2013. Things was moved without us being told that the price was now tripled until the van was almost in New Jersey. I called NY Van multiple times asking for the charge and no one in the office keen the answer. When they told us the price, due to us not having enough money, ny vans put our things in their storage until July 24, 2013. I reported that we had missing and lots of damaged items. They told us to file a claim with Anthem Claim Management. We did this August 27,2013 and got a response back saying they can give us $210. What was damaged: 1) 2 glass China's ( all the glass shelves were broken) 2) Deep freeze (large dents on sides 3) cooking stove (lots of dents, stove top completely damaged, knobs broken) 4) rice dispenser damaged (top missing) 5) 3 large very expensive pictures ( glass frames broken) 6) dinning Rome table (broken, legs can not be attached). All these things was package and rapped by ny vans. They claimed to had bought more rapping items from Home Depot , but all I saw was ny vans wrappings.

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Massachusetts

New York Van Lines Are Worst Movers Ever.

NEW YORK VAN LINES ARE WORST MOVERS EVER.
I strongly recommend not going with these movers. I’m the victim. I’m frustrated and pissed with these movers. I had this move from North Carolina to Massachusetts (Interstate Move). First their moving quote is misleading. They will have your quote with low cost to attract you first and take 100 dollar to have you sign to their quote. They go by cubic feet. Regardless of your house hold stuff they quote very low cubic feet to bring the price low to attract you. If you sign by that you are hanged. They will send the driver to pick you stuff ASAP but delivery is delayed to your patience. I didn’t get deliveries till now even after 3 weeks. They have plenty of excuses to tell you. Please don’t deliver whatever driver say to you. He does not have any power to give discount nor delivery time. He will bring your quote almost double first and he talks to his manages and pretend as if he is on your side and giving you discount but it’s not. IT’S ALL THEIR GAME PLAN, NEVER BELIEVE THEM. Delivery is all their decision. Regardless how much you request, they won’t even try helping you. They will take complete advantage and take as much time as possible. They deliver only on their will not on your wish. Just imagine, 11 months baby without a bowl to feed and blanket to sleep for 3 weeks. I called them so many times and requested but they never even tried to help me. These are people I talked and faced trouble.
I REQUEST YOU NOT TO GO WITH THESE MOVERS AND ESPECIALLY DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE (ANGIE, ROSA OR ANY DISPATCH TEAM AND DRIVER TYLER).
I STRONGLY SUGGEST AND RECOMMEND NOT TO GO WITH THIS MOVERS.
Regards,RD
 .

Terrible Never Use!!

New York Van Lines is the worst company you can get. First they quote you a low amount so you get attracted to the company then charge you double what they quoted. They promised 3-4 guys when we only got 2. They arrived 4 hours later than expected. They delivered all of our stuff damaged and went through our drawers. They Left us to bring up more than half of our stuff up and threw the remainder of our stuff in the mud and dirt. This company took more money out of our bank account than what they were supposed to. They are con artists and have changed there names many times before to escape legal problems.

Long-distance move from Florida to New York

The worse company ever.

Hired Ny van lines to move from miami to the bronx and they are the worse i've ever had to deal with. They delivered my stuff over month late, charged me double then agreed on contract and my furnishings and belongings were destroyed. The management is very nasty, rude and unprofessional. Every person answering the phone claimed to be the operations mgr. When I complained to there "so called mgmt" the woman had the audacifity to day I was a liar and threaten me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE THIEFS AND TGEY TRAIN DELIVERY PERSONNEL TO LIE AND WANT TO CHARGE MORE FOR STUFF.

My Piano Move.

This moving company moved solely my piano.  My piano was in near perfect condition.  When they picked it up, it appeared it was wrapped up well.  However, when they delivered it, it had a completely broken leg.  In addition, the music book holder piece was removed and delivered with multiple deep scratches on it.  The person who delivered it stated that this piece was just laying on the truck unwrapped and he wasn't even sure what it was.  I did not get signed copies of my paperwork I had requested.  The girl (employee name removed by company request) told me she mailed the copies to me twice. She repeated the correct address to me but funny how I never received it. She said she refuses to mail it to me a third time. When asked to speak to a manager, she refused to let me talk to anyone else. The insurance company they use - Anheim will only reimburse me $180.00 for damages as they stated they pay $.60 per pound and they claimed it being only 300 lbs. I got one estimate to fix the leg and that alone was $400. I did not get an estimate yet to fixing the music holder piece. Prior to the move, I asked (employee name removed by company request) who I was dealing with about taking out extra insurance and he claimed I would not need to since it is insured by them.   This was my first experience with a moving company and probably my last. I blame myself for not taking better care of doing my homework prior to using them as I tend to trust too much.  Just want others to beware of this horrific company to deal with.
